Record the sound
Tokay geckos are quite common in houses and around human settlement, thus it shall be easy to spot one. Once you listen to the typical advertisement rattle and bi-note sound „Ge-cko“, record it preferably via iNaturalist app or the third-party App, such as Parrot, Easy Voice Recorder or RecForge II. Just please keep in mind to set the recording to the .wav and the highest audio bitrate. If possible, record min. 5 consecutive advertisement calls. To record the sound through iNaturalist mobile app click the link below to use beta testing version of the application.

Upload data
We welcome all residents and travellers to help us not only upload the sounds, but also add observings to this project!
Upload the sounds and pictures preferably to the Geckording project on iNaturalist.
or submit them via e-mail at project@geckording.eu.
Please include the following information:
Date and time of observation
Noting the date can help us to find differences in timing of breeding season. Information about time of recording can help to reveal the peaks of geckons activity.
Location
GPS coordinates are very helpful, you can also easily specify the location using the map function on iNaturalist. If you cannot get GPS coordinates, street address or local geographic name can provide an accurate description of the locality.
Habitat
Tokay geckos can occupy various habitats, both hiding in deep rainforest and hanging out around human habitations.
